May 11, 2013 watercolor painting

This is another Christmas gift watercolor. I bought a new paint color for this one. Bright pinks have been popular lately with brides, but it’s not an easy color to mix! I’m glad to have the color ready and waiting for the next time I need it.

Olivia & Beatrice, August 9, 2013

Olivia and Beatrice, August 9, 2013

I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since I posted! I have been painting though. Here is a recently completed oil painting. I had creative freedom with this one—Olivia and Beatrice are my nieces, and my sister-in-law’s only request was that the painting coordinate with the peach walls in the nursery. I had fun adding in the olive branches and little bee.

Minnehaha Falls & September 7

This watercolor was commissioned for a newly married couple who live in my neighborhood of Minneapolis—Longfellow. The commissioners decided to feature Minnehaha Falls, a favorite local park, to commemorate the wedding date.

Piper Felice

This painting was a gift from Piper’s Dad to her Mom. He decided to include both of the birth flowers for July (larkspur and water lily) and the trio of birds to represent their family.
